Rockland police contacted Mashpee police Monday about the incident, according to a message from Rockland High School Principal Alan Cron posted on the school district’s website.
Mashpee police then questioned and arrested the student accused of sending the threatening tweet. Cron said in his statement that the teen arrested was charged with threatening to commit a crime and disturbing a school assembly.
Rockland schools added additional security measures Tuesday due to the threat and upcoming basketball game between the two schools, according to the Rockland School Department’s website.
