Should teachers be armed?

From the Yarmouth Police Department:

On Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 8AM to 4PM Yarmouth Police Headquarters will serve as a collection point for anyone who has unwanted firearms or ammunition.

Having a firearm or ammunition in your home is a big responsibility and demands the highest level of respect and security. If anyone finds that they no longer want the responsibility of having a firearm or ammunition in their home please contact us and we will appropriately dispose of the items in accordance with Massachusetts laws.

Anyone who brings a firearm or ammunition to our facility must make sure it is unloaded and fully-secured. If there are any doubts about its safety please call us and a Police Officer will come to your home, safely remove it and transport it to our facility.

For more information about this program please contact Yarmouth Police Records Division Officer Albert Sprague at 508.775.0445 extension 2136 or by email at asprague@yarmouth.ma.us
