Cape Cod Community College announced that Captain Dave Bushy, a 35-year veteran of commercial aviation and former Cape Air president, will speak at the college’s 51st Commencement in May.
Bushy has flown for several airlines during his career including Delta, Jet Blue and Cape Air, according to a press release. In 2006 his position with Cape Air grew when he accepted the role of Chief Operating Officer. In 2010, he was promoted again, this time as President of the airline where he served until his retirement this year.
College President Dr. John Cox said they are extremely pleased to have Bushy as this year’s speaker.
“Our graduates are entering a world full of change, opportunity, and some turbulence, similar to the evolution of the commercial airline industry,” Bushy said in a statement. “His perspective will be both informative and though-provoking for the class of 2013.”
The 51st Commencement will be held at 4 p.m. May 30 at the Cape Cod Melody Tent.
