We've seen hundreds of events come and go in the community, but how often does one pass you by that you wish you hadn't missed out on? That's where we come in. Each week Falmouth Patch will post a quick reminder about the events, activities or important tasks whose deadlines have come.

Today is your last chance to check out the wide variety of arts, crafts, and music at the Falmouth Art Market. From 2 p.m. until sunset, the market will be wrapping up its summer 2012 run with one final afternoon of unique, local, handmade pieces in all sorts of media, at Town Hall Square.

Paintings, etchings, and collages by talented local artists Max Redfire, Sandra Faxon, Joan Tweedell, and Forrest Pirovano will be on display and available for purchase. Many of the works represent scenes or landmarks familiar to Cape Cod residents and visitors.

A range of jewelry, much of it also reflective of Cape Cod, will also be available, including pieces by Candy Proctor, Martie Burns, Nancy and Christopher Adamo, Barbara O'Connor, Regina Correira, and Joe Freedman. Plenty of pottery and ceramics will also be on display, including the work of Cynthia Lambert and Sarah Caruso. You can count on finding a variety of other handcrafted items as well, from quilts, to doll clothes, to stationary, to driftwood art, to glass, and more.

The market also hosts live music, entertaining visitors as they browse and shop. Closing out the 2012 season will be the hammer dulcimer music of John Yankee, who specializes in Celtic and folk songs, and who will perform from 2:30 through 5 p.m. Next up, from 5 until 7:30, will be Four Guys in Tuxes, offering renditions of jazz and swing standards, and open to requests.

And hungry shoppers can stop by The Barking Claw, one of Falmouth's finest food carts, offering everything from the basic hot dog to the more elaborate lobster roll.

If you're looking for the prefect souvenir, or just one last glimpse of summer 2012, the Falmouth Art Market is the place to be today.
