Jim Hill created this marriage equality image to show his support for the cause.

Centerville native and graphic designer Jim Hill thought that he might get a few “likes” on Facebook, when he posted the image that he created Tuesday morning.

“To be honest, I didn't think it would spread at all. I figured I'd see a handful of "likes" and maybe some shares, but then it just took off,” Hill said.

Take off it did. Within a few hours of posting the digital image of a red “marriage equality” symbol superimposed over an image of the U.S. Constitution on Facebook, Hill’s work went viral.

Hill’s design was inspired by a campaign in support of marriage equality that coincided with the U.S. Supreme Court’s historic consideration of a case involving California’s prohibition of same-sex marriages.

Of course, as the founder of Digital Quill Design, a company that specializes in online media strategies, web development and graphic design services, Hill admits he had a leg up on creating a powerful design.
