The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory, a coastal flood warning and a hazardous weather outlook for Barnstable County.
"Strong to damaging winds into early Friday morning across portions of the coast and escpecially the Cape and Islands," according to the NWS.
A coastal flood warning went into effect at 5 a.m. today and will remain in effect though 10 a.m. Friday.
Coastal flooding and severe beach erosion is likely during the high tides until Friday morning, the NWS said in their warning statement:
"The storm surge is projected to be 2.5 to 3 feet at most East Coast locations from Thursday morning though Friday morning. Waves offshore will likely reach 25 to 30 feet, highest Thursday afternoon into Friday morning.
Major coastal flooding is anticipated for Friday morning.
The good news is that the sun will be shining by the weekend.
