Over the past two weeks Barnstable police have been investigating a break-in at the Apothecare Pharmacy on Main St. in Hyannis, according to a press release. The incident occurred February 10 during the blizzard that left many Cape residents and businesses without power.
The thieves stole about 18,000 pills including oxycodone and oxycontin worth $500,000.
During the investigation police identified Ronald Kimball Jr., 25, of West Yarmouth as a suspect and obtained a search warrant for his home at 9 Rosetta Ln. and for his storage container at the Dennis Mini Storage on Hokum Rock Rd. in Dennis.
Police allegedly found pills in both locations during a search Wednesday afternoon.
Kimball was arrested and charged with breaking and entering nighttime with intent to commit a felony and larceny in a building, trafficking oxycodone, 2 counts possession of a class B substance (Dilaudid and Methadone) with intent to distribute, possession of a class C substance (Hydrocodone) with intent to distribute, and receiving stolen property over $250.
Kimball was arraigned today in Barnstable District Court, bail was set at $25,000 cash.
